Riverslea is an example of the extravagance of Gold Rush architecture. The home was built in 1896 for the land agent and surveyor, Charles Crossland who had made his money from those who had made fortunes on the Goldfields.
The family portrait is on display in Stirling Square.
The younger of the two boys, Royden, was killed in 1916 in France.
