The Port of Fremantle sort of grew after European settlement in 1829. By the 1890’s a refurbishment was needed and the engineer, Charles Yelverton O’Connor, was given the job of re-designing the Port.
While it was very successful for a century, parts of it do need touching up.
Which is why this section was closed.
I had to make a detour around this area.
I was down in Freo last week, but didn’t see this.

Well, it is certainly clear why that section is closed! Very interesting picture. My “closed” is certainly an example of something that lasts only hours rather than centuries.
