I have been lucky enough to be given a number of awards.
To save space on my sidebars and so that I can give more details, I have collected them here for display.
I received this one quite early on in my bloglife.
I was so honoured that it came from the World Blog Council!
I passed it on to the humorous Linda from the Back Nine, the amazing Litlove whose Tales From The Reading Room are essential reading, the wonderfully talented David for his Very Short Novels along with the delightful Bloglily, the sadly distracted but exceptionally readable Reed for her “Out of Ideas” and the totally twisted Renal Failure.
The very nice Sandy passed this one on to me in June 08.
I passed this one on to;
A fellow West Aussie, The Lazy Aussie cos I like to encourage laziness.
Daddy P because us old gits need to be encouraged.
The inventive and quite outspoken honjii.
Photographer extraordinaire, Kym from Humboldt County.
Finally, Davidbdale for the sheer, continued, excellence of his 299 word novels and the pictures they create in the mind of the reader.
The sometimes acerbic but always readable dorid created this award and chose me as one of its first recipients.
I was tempted to pass it along to the well known proto-atheist Dr Rowan Williams but refused to give in to the temptation.
Instead I limited my choices to some of the people who make me think.
Honjii, who harangues us all.
Metro, a Canadian who deserves forgiveness.
The eloquent Truce who is curiouser and curiouser.
Gary Murning in whose hands words are lethal weapons!
I dropped in at my favourite female curmudgeon’s blog a couple of days ago, in the midst of a huge “Connectivity Issue” which was afflicting my ISP (Internet ‘Scuses Provider), and found an unexpected gift. The best sort.
Except I AM not, and have NEVER BEEN “Lovely”. I will accept “handsome”, “irresistible”, “masculine” or possibly, in a pinch and with a minimum of chunderous reaction, “Cute”.
But NOT “Lovely”.
I do appreciate the thought and now must find 15 people to pass it on to.
This is MY list and I am not taking into account the lists of other bloggers. So, if you end up with more than one of these little roses, take it as a compliment that you have more than one friend. (You’re lucky!)
Oh yes, first the RULES!
The rules for this rolling award are passed down as follows:
1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you love and/or have newly discovered.
3. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
4. Use the One Lovely Blog award picture from my blog, on your blog to let everyone know that you have one lovely Blog!
So, my fifteen choices as lovely blogs are; [pause for drumroll]
And, of course the bookelicious Woo.
Next, photographers extraordinaire, Kym, RJ Flamingo, and Helen Edith, and the incurable bookaholic, Cathy , then, in no particular order of sexual orientation, nationality, alphabeticity or age are casa az, Silverstar, Puddock, The Gitwizard, Linda, Daddy P, Wandering Coyote, and the imaginitive Petramichelle.
I am honoured to have been selected as one of the inaugural recipients of the “Manly Blogger Guy Award”. Thank you, DaveC from Lugubrious Drollery.
1. The blog receiving the award must demonstrate masculine qualities such as sloth, boorishness, urinary hesitancy, or flatulence. In the interest of equal opportunity, these criteria do not entirely exclude female nominees.
2. No blog which plays background music such as “Somewhere My Love” or “My Heart Will Go On” is eligible.
3. The award should be passed on to as many other blogs as possible, but watching televised sports or taking a nap should take precedence over passing out awards.
Since rain has washed out play in the third Ashes Test, I shall choose a couple of blogger guys to pass this award on to.
Metro who, singlehandedly keeps the Canadian Government in line while playing a mean game of on-line poker.
The Gitwizard who does blokey things on farms and rides bikes and takes wonderful photographs.
Bunk Strutts, with whom I rarely agree but whose right to be wrong I shall defend to the death.
Rob, who has a special tale to tell and is man enough to let his feelings show.
Daddy Papersurfer, who has introduced me to both the wonderful world of the Cliff Top Residence and to Gertrude. Perhaps this award is more for Gertrude.
Pass it on to whoever you think fit, guys. I will continue to make awards when I remember and when I find someone worthwhile.
I was going to visit all recipients and let them know that had received it but I have to practice TV watching. The sun has come out and play is about to begin at Edgebaston.
I received the above from Siverstar
