We hate the fact and the idea of war. Today is Remembrance Day,
My Grandmother’s favourite brother died just 100 years and four months ago in France.
Yet sometimes it seems that those who died were the lucky ones. The story recounted below is heartbreaking. Sadly it was and is one repeated so many times.
So remember these guys, and all the others who ‘survived’ the wars humanity has endured.
That is my aim. To mock those who profit from these wars, those who glorify them and those who continue to send young men into the obscenity which is war.
Lest we forget!
Such a beautiful piece of writing. I’m with you. I will not give a thought to war profiteers or old white men in ivory towers who send our young men and women to be killed or to kill. No war is ever WON. Fighting for peace is an anachronism, kept going to feed greed and the hunger for power. Lest we forget to remember indeed.

Thank you. I am always torn on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day. I hate the wars but I respect those who put their lives on the line. More than that, I hate the profiteers who create the wars. They are the criminals!
