A Bit of Perth

St Alban’s Anglican Church, 423 Beaufort Street, Highgate.
Built in 1889.

In 1893, a visitor to the church described the place: ‘Just a mile from the Cathedral  you found a little stone church with a rough fence around it. I suppose it would hold about 80 people; it had just been improved by the addition of a porch and a vestry. It stood in a block of five acres of bush, where beautiful wild flowers grew.’
Lincoln Street, Highgate is named after Abraham Lincoln, who was the chief organist and choirmaster at the church.
