A Bit of Perth

Lake Monger is between Herdsman Lake and the Perth CBD.

This triangular lake is a part of the system of lakes, only a few of which have avoided being drained, to the North-West of Perth which end up draining into the Swan River vis Claisebrook.

Associated with the lake is the Wagyl, part of Noongar (Indigenous) mythology. The myth describes the track of a serpent being, who in his journey towards the sea, deviates from his route and emerges from the ground which gives rise to Lake Monger.

Now there is a parkland surrounding the 70 hectare lake. Another wonderful place for bird watching and with fewer snakes than Herdsman.
