My memory must be going!
I could have sworn that Joe Hockey told us, several weeks ago, that while the Coalition would “Axe the Carbon Tax” the other bits; the $18,000 tax threshold, the Schoolkids bonus and a number of other benefits would remain.
I believed him because the Coalition does not lie and the Coalition does not change its mind. It will be, after all, a grown up Government.
Then today I heard him say that, as a part of $31billion in savings, the whole of the Carbon Tax legislation will be repealed.
The Tax Threshhold will go back to $6,000 ( increasing the tax bill by around $3,000 for everyone). The Pensioners’ assistance scheme will be dumped. The Schoolkids bonus will be scrapped.
But he said – - – - – -
Now I have this cognitive dissonance thing going in my mind. Joe is always straight up honest and truthful. He tells us so. Yet Joe said no and Joe said yes.
So it must be my mind that is going. Certainly, my head hurts!
How is your mind now?
