Poll About the Polls

There is a quite foolish reliance on small but wildly variable polling results in the Australian press.

So it seems sensible to ask you, the intelligent reader to note just which poll you consider to be the most reliable.

We all know that the differences between the polls will narrow as the election comes close.  That is exam time for the pollsters.

The last week will show figures which will be very close to reality.

In the meantime, it seems that most polls are somewhere over the rainbow and may be  nowhere near the Australian sentiment.

So which poll do you trust mid-term, when only the innate honesty of the pollsters is on display.

There is a poll on the left of this post where you may vote to indicate your preferred poll.

  1. Newspoll, is half-owned by News Limited, and appears in The Australian, Galaxy had/has the connection of David briggs, (he runs/ran Galaxy) used to work at Newspoll.

  2. It would appear I am with the majority regarding most reliable poll. Due to bias and agenda of MSM, Morgan results never get a mention

  3. l reckon the Noise-Polls are bullshit that is fed every fortnight to the embedded media to keep them screeching nonsense.

  4. Only half-owned by News Limited? With their rather silly phone poll settings I would have thought Murdoch’s Muckrakers would have had a stronger voice in Newspoll! Remember, they only do it by phone and then only land-line. You know of any person under 30 who uses a land-line these days? ;-)

  5. l reckon they poll folks on the 2gb `caller` list and Limited-News subscribers.
