In 1936 the Christian Brothers opened their Highgate School at 375 Stirling St, Highgate.
The school has moved and the land sold to property developers who are about to build a six story apartment block.
While the Stirling St School frontage is being kept and will be turned into apartments, the rest of the school grounds will be covered with high-density living.
As a first step, a crane needed to be erected and that is what caught my eye from my balcony on Friday.
A quick trip to the site and some photos were taken.
The old cross on top of the school façade was nicely framed for a short while..
And there needs to be a crane to build the crane. The two, in mid-construction, provide some strong verticals when combined with the old school chimney.
During the evening the looming threat of this newly invading monster was visible from the balcony where I had first spotted its arrival.

Was this the only CBC in Perth or was there one in Adelaide Tce.? My father and his brothers went to CBC in the early 1900′s.
There was one in Freo and another in Adelaide Tce. I think your Dad went to the Adelaide Tce CBC. There may have been others.
