A Bit of Perth

Sometimes the memorable parts of a city are not the people or the architecture.

It is the accidental sights which are spotted by chance.

Walking through Forrest Place in Perth I found myself in a position to see a sight which spanned nearly 120 years.

The bright green “Cactus” artwork was erected this year.

The Perth Railway Station was built in 1893.

On the other side of the Cactus is the Forrest Chase Building opened in 1988.

The triple glass window is on the ground floor of the Albert Facey Building. Albert was not a politician or a sportsman or anyone important. He was simply a man who wrote a book about his life. If you ever get the chance to read “A Fortunate Life” do so. It is inspiring.

One response to “A Bit of Perth
