Last I heard, Bradley Manning continues to languish in solitary confinement somewhere, still not charged with any crime.
The Americans have become worse than any regime they’ve ever criticized or toppled.
Sadly, the voices and people in this film are too few. The majority still can’t be bothered to shut off their TV’s, get off their collective asses and do something.
Oh, and when you produce works like this? DHS labels you a “domestic extremist”. Nice, eh?
I commented earlier tonight on Gitwizard’s blog on a post about Democracy. I said; “I remember Democracy. We used to have it in Australia. We sort of copied it from the USA but Big Business has taken it over both here and there. Now Bradley Manning and Julian Assange are condemned for showing us that Democracy is dead. That we are all incarcerated in Guantanamo.”
There’s a huge outcry (quite properly, too) against live animal exports to dreadful places.
Am I the only one who can see similarities between that and the incarceration of people of differing opinion ?
Manning’s/Assange’s best hope? Probably Amnesty and lawyers like Geoffrey Robertson.
No. You are not the only one. There are many who are speaking against the hypocrisy. Unfortunately we only have a pretend democracy in Australia so there is nothing we can do except speak loudly and often.
