I love most forms of music yet there is one which always brings back the past.
Childhood and simpler times were highlighted by the calliope music of the roundabout.
The Royal Agricultural Show and the Perth Zoo were two of the places where a childhood visit always included, to the strident strains of roundabout music, a laughing, carefree journey on one of these galloping horses.

Now that is a different take on this theme but I love it. The music always streams out from the merry go round and it is a huge part of its charm.
Happy weekend to you.
nothing brings me more joy than a real, steam-powered calliope on a merry-go-round! woo hoo!
There’s something about a carousel, isn’t there? Remember pretending I was a real horse on them when I was a kid. ;b
I love an old fashioned carousel
What a wonderful shot.
We have one a lot like this. It was built by the whole community.
I love to ride those when I was a kid
Great pic. We live in L.A., not far from the Griffith Park merry-go-round. Of course, being a cat, I have never seen it. But my human says this is the first photo hunt picture today that she actually heard.
Magical, a word for a ride there
i love riding in the carousel though it makes me dizzy at times
happy weekend
The lights, colours, subject – all very exciting. In fact I’m feeling a bit dizzy having gone round and round on the merry-go-round several times.
GOOD one!
I love riding carousel. The lights and the music made me think I am still young LOL!
Mine is up My Life’s Journey in Focus
Great shot
I know how fun to ride one of those. Happy hunting…mine is up.
Now that brings back happy memories. Have a great weekend

Musical Treats
Beautiful carousel and a great take on the theme.
What a great choice for the theme! Love carousels – they do bring back memories.
Fun!
That is a great photohunt~ mine is washing ashore.
Great choice!
My Photo Hunt
Ah, such wonderful memories! How can anyone possibly not love the music from the calliope?!
I like your choice. I had no carousel or calliope to experience when I was young. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love them!
Mine is a little more subdued. http://healingmagichands.wordpress.com/2009/11/14/photohunt-music/
Lovely photo! Very emotional. Yes, music is often tied to memories, isn’t it?
Happy Photo Hunting! I hope you get a chance to visit my post today at New York Traveler.net. Happy trails!
Oh, I always loved the old roundabouts….
Carousel, roundabout … we used to call them merry-go-rounds. Somehow that name says it all …
Carousels look nice, but they give me a headache. Does your play it’s a small world?
A & P shows are nice.
