Back in the desert, back working 14 hour days, back with the stress and hassles, back with the raw beauty of the Australian Outback.
So, not a lot of news reading this week.
Last week, magic hands won herself another crown while yours truly, Rob, Mrs Eagle, Bunk, Karen, and Sandy. That’s correct, we each only have to wear the hat for one day.
So how will you go in this week’s BBC News Quiz of the Week.
Good luck

You got 4 right!
If only they’d asked how long it’s been raining in Alberta or if it truly was an El Nino year. But no.
You got 3 right!
Enough to get a breather from the dunce hat?
Hope so….it’s starting to leave a ring round my head.
You got 6 right!
Damn, damn, damn. “-mycin” means Latin to me, not Polynesian.
rapa is the operative part of the name. Before the British came along and renamed it, Easter Island was called Rapa Nui
I’ve heard the name … but I didn’t know it was Easter Island, which is a silly name for a Pacific Island if you ask me. I know it relates to the finding it at Easter time in the Christian calendar (how presumptuous is that, to call an island the other side of the world something which relates to a British religious event!) but I like the original name best. It applies to all the other names which the Brits. have used for places like Uhluru (Ayer’s Rock) and Burma and Ceylon and Siam … the original names are so much more fitting.

Who should be more embarrassed
- An Aquilan able to Correctly=Guess the apparel worn by le Intellektuel Giant in charge of British Intelligence
or
- The hereinbefore-mentioned Intellect for posing in such apparel
_ The Gouvernement General of Her Britannic Majesty [God Bless Her] for being so astute that they have NOT fired this Glittering Example of British Perspicacity for his high Intelligence – such brilliance was apparent at Gallipoli in 1915
AND that wRetched Portoogaise Man who wRecked my Chance of securing single-handed ownership of te much-coveted Chapeau de Dunce
La vie est si unfair
Oh dear, I might as well have been in the desert, I tried 7 clever guesses but
You got 1 right!
and that was the Australian bottled water, useful in the desert………….
Tried sending you an e-mail, but got lost when I was asked about servers. caldecourt56@googlemail.com
Oh dear – 2/7, and I only knew one of the answers – what James Bond wears on his holidays…
But gitwizard has saved me (and herr eAgle) from the cap this week – thanks gw!
I got 5 right – i think that’s a personal best for me
I seem to be holding steady at 3 every week.
Only two this week. A big thank you goes out to that /other/ wizard for keeping my head free of the hated pointy hat!
I got three right. From the heights to the depths.
I thought old Sarah also talked fishing analogies along with the basketball, but apparently that wasn’t until the followup interviews. That woman is one long string of platitudes.
5 right and didn’t read very much news this week.
Even with the help of the TG I only 2 right. The theory of probability is probably wrong ………..
Mrs Eagle = 1
Die arme Sarah = Sie ist ein ZerstörungsPlatz
[la pauvre Sarah - elle est un Area de Disastre]
and she has de;reciated the Kindly Healing Lady’s score
woo-hoo! 2 right!
i’m going to pretend that it’s my (imaginary) social life that’s gotten in the way from tuning into the news.
I also got two right, and thank those who went into the basement so I wouldn’t have to.
