This is one of the strange Australian blooms.
A Callistemon. Commonly called a Bottlebrush.
This one is a dark pink but they range from white, yellow and green through to orange, pink and red.

Lovely…
My entry this week, in HERE. Hope you have time to visit as well.
That is sooo pretty I wonder if you would look at my header on my blog and tell me if that is the same flower in purple?
So cool – like a new year firework!
That is a seriously cute flower.

My pink is up too. Hope you can visit.
That almost looks like fireworks, great choice for a Happy 4th!
Mine is up, come on by.
my rosella loves eating them
That’s a wonderful shot, Archie – I had to “biggify” it, and it’s really stunning. We have bottlebrush trees here, too, and I just love their feathery look! Sometimes I even see parrots in the trees, eating them…
Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments on my “blogoversary”!
What an interesting plant. I love it! Happy weekend.
Awesome! Couldn’t be more perfect for the theme and our holiday!
I never have seen a pink one before. Is it naturally occurring like that or hybridized?
Very nice photo Archie.
What a beautiful flower… I don’t know if they grow here… perhaps at the botanical garden. Lovely. http://melange1.blogspot.com/2009/07/spf-pink-is-white-trying-to-be-red.html
