Why do people use words they do not understand?

alfresco

And the mind goes off on a tangent suffering from a modicom of vowel shift thinking that from all reports that Frisco is rather cool place – - -

  1. Alfresco /inside/. Hmmm. OK … interesting concept … and not a table outside to be seen. Well, well, well.

  2. Well, they have a sliding glass door they can open. Doesn’t that count?

    Still, this reminds me of a sign I saw on a local “restaurant” (and I use that term advisedly) last year. “Enjoy our seafood buffet! Catfish Froglegs” Obviously their definition of “seafood” is pretty loose. Jim’s comment: “Well, it wouldn’t sound so inviting if the sign said “Enjoy our muddy farm pond buffet!”, would it?
