Could You Pass 8th Grade Math?

As a part of a plot to make some of the readers of the archive think, I present a maths quiz.

Unlike many of the quizzes posted here and elsewhere in the blogipelago this will require some genuine thought and effort. It is a pity the correct answers are not shown at the end - although, with my perfect score, if you are curious, ask me and I shall, longwindedly give the correct answers.

Good Luck.

You Passed 8th Grade Math

Congratulations, you got 10/10 correct!

    You Passed 8th Grade Math

    Congratulations, you got 10/10 correct!

  2. Hmmmmph!!!! Oh no, you only got 6/10 correct! I never claimed to be able to do Math. I’m surprised I got that many right. I’m an artist, not a mathematician!

  3. @ Kate, Well done. Join me up here on the podium :)

@ Buff, Yes, well, it still seems like a pass. Just.

  4. Is there any room left on the podium? Although, I trained as an art teacher, I used to teach a lot of maths as well. Even came up with a way to introduce dullards to quadratic equations that has been adopted in several schools. *polishing nails and looking modest*

  5. Hey, welcome, Daddy P. You mean you found a way of inculcating the beauty of squares into blockheads? Well done! :) Buff wants to know what colour nail polish you are using and does Lo,TG know you are using it?

  6. 6/10 for me too. i prefer arithmetic

  7. Well, I did better than on the news test. I got all ten.
    And I got them correct!

  8. ….using blocks of cheese actually - not for my nails, obviously - teaching the little b*****s.

[One word to the TG and I'm mincemeat - this is turning into a recipe now - bye]

  9. I got 8/10 but found the test hard. I just posted the results of this quiz, along with a short story about my iffy high school math experiences…

  10. @nm, it certainly is more straight forward :)

@Cybe, nothing less was expected of you :)

@daddy P, Blocks of cheese - so they get to eat the correctly quadraticised lumps? Cheese, mincemeat, now all we need are some mashed spuds and we can have a shepherd’s pie.

@WC, strange how teachers have such power - no thought at all that a student’s poor results could possibly be due to poor teaching! Grrrrrrrrr

  11. Woo-hoo! I got 10/10 too. My brain is feeling tired but springy…

  12. Wow - now that I have found that I have smart readers - I will bring forward the hardest (by a quantum leap) blog quiz ever seen. Tomorrow will be interesting, I promise.
