Granny Power

I was always terrified of my grandmother.

Despite her scrumptious scones and wonderful preserves she always had the ability to quell me with just a look. She was little, white-haired and completely terrifying!

Yet, in her day, she was a hottie. I have her photo on my desk to remind me. Even wrinklies were young! And if they are anything like me, even in their wrinklehood they still had youthful thoughts. Even her piano playing remained highly skilled into her widowhood.

It seems nothing has changed.

Grandmothers are still, like totally, in charge!

A lot of people have seen this yet I think it is worth watching again.

If only to remind you to show respect to your grandmother - and other people’s grandmothers!

  1. Go Gran! Yay!!! I can’t think of a more perfect way to deal with such a pig! Not only did she not have to use words to put him back in his place but she replied in the perfect way to remove his “masculinity token”!!! I love it.

  2. Thank you so much for this Archie! I love it! As I head pell-mell towards crusty old age myself, I shall be inspired by this rebellion against the prat classes. Wonderful stuff!

  3. Your grandmother had beautiful eyes, Archie :)

  4. What a beautiful photo. Great video too. :)

  5. There’s something rather disturbing about describing your Grandmother as a Hottie….

She was a very beautiful young woman though…

  6. @ Buff, you are becoming quite a scary Granny too - - - ;)

@Puddock, crusty is good - I have been practicing my curmudgeonishness for years.

@ Truce, I never had the nerve to look at her eyes - until I saw the photo.

    @ azahar, thanks, az

@ Tasmaniac, I am quite a disturbing (and disturbed) person. I think what I am trying to say to the youngsters is that we weren’t always these wrinkly people.
