I’m not much of a party animal. I tend to avoid crowds. Or do crowds tend to avoid me?
Whatever, I found I had few party photographs, except for one memorable night when I braved the crowds and watched the Perth Christmas Pageant.
Perth’s biggest street party.
So here is a pageant collation, showing a little of the diversity of the parade.

And what party would be complete without fireworks.
These fireworks were from last year’s Chinese New Year celebrations.
So for all my Chinese readers, while it may be late, this gives me the opportunity to wish you all, “Gung hei fat choi!”

The fireworks look fabulous! Never too late in receiving your well wishes for the lunar new year, thanks!
Thanks, napaboaniya.
I like that fireworks photo, it’s awesome!
It was one of a series I took that night. The first time I was able to get good images of fireworks
Wow… Those fireworks do look nice and the costume in the parade is so colorful. Great shots Archie!
Thanks, Criz Lai. The parade was a lot of fun and showed from just how many lands and cultures the People of Perth came.
the fireworks so pretty.
Thanks, They are fun to watch.
Wonderful way to end a festive party: fireworks!
The best way to end a party
love the fireworks archie. there’ll be fireworks of a different type in sydney tonight. it’s mardi gras!
I know – I hope it is a good parade. I have had not one, but two fireworks displays tonight – one about four Km away and the other about 1.5Km away – Great shows!
beautiful photos, i’m sure you had a blast.
It was fun, thanks.
The fireworks photo is awesome. Happy weekend.
Thank you, Liz
Great entries – I ♥ fireworks, so this one has to be my favorite!
Happy Hunting!

What a great picture of the fireworks. The colors are exploding! Nice.
Thank you, Sanni – I was quite surprised at how well the colours came out.
Nice photos Archie. Those fireworks are beautiful!
I think that constitutes a party! Fireworks and all. Have a great day!
It was a great party – and the fireworks were a great ending.
Wow. that musta been one huge party!!! And fun. And noisy. And filled with laughter and joy. Looks like a great party to me.
If you haven’t already, I hope you can drop in to view my two party themed photos. Have a terrific weekend.

looks like a party animal to me
Not really – I’m a trainee hermit
Beautiful shots. We avoid crowds as well so this one was tricky.
Thanks for visiting, Heather.
Those are both great shots for the party theme. Have a happy weekend.
Thanks, carver.
Awesome fireworks photo. I’ve never, ever gotten a decent shot of fireworks.
I tried for so long but always failed – finally I used a tripod and a remote trigger – it worked
I love the firework shot. They always make for such pretty photos don’t they?
They can be so spectacular – providing the wind is blowing the smoke away from you – then half the burst can be hidden behind the dense cloud of smoke
wow great pics, I love the fireworks that’s fabulous
Thanks, Annie. It is rather spectacular, isn’t it
Both pictures are great. They feel so festive.
Thank you, alice. They do add something special to any event.
Cool picture of the fireworks!!! I wanna be there instead of in the snow
I have never lived with, or even touched, snow. I wanna experience it!
I am just stunned by that fireworks photo. What a stupendous photo! wow
MY PH: Party is here. Thank you.
Love the horses in your photos
Oh, Archie, it looks to me like you are a party animal after all.
Maybe in my mind
darn, I could have SWORN I replied to this earlier…
my mind must be going.
That fireworks photo is HOT… I don’t know why I can’t get a shot like that. Are my reflexes slow or just the shutter?
I think it is the reflexes – I finally started using a tripod and a remote trigger. Still not brilliant but better than the rubbish I previously took.
