What could be more old-fashioned than a pear tree planted in 1830?
This tree is on the grounds of one of the first farms in Perth.

Unless it is the drink the ancient Greeks enjoyed – Honey Mead.

Of course, I could also include one of my favourite old buildings, The Rose and Crown Hotel in Bunbury.
So I will

Happy Aussie Day!!!
Thanks for the wishes from Singapore
A fellow West Aussie!! Great pics!! Happy Australia Day!
Hiya Nikki, welcome to the archive. Enjoy the fireworks tonight – I’m too far away for that
WOW! Some very nice photos on this weeks theme!
They’re all terrific —now, hand over the drink of the Greek Gods!!! I’m all for an ‘old fashioned’ shot of that for sure. Too early for the USA drinkers, but I’ll pretend it’s late Saturday night here!!!
My ‘old fashioned’ is posted, hope you can drop by and visit with me too, I love visitors!!!
Sorry, I emptied the bottle before I photographed it
Cool shots you have this week. I never knew that an old tree could be considered too in this week’s theme. Great idea
Fruit trees have all been hybridised and crossed and interbred so a pear tree which is nearly 180 years old is almost certainly an oldfashioned type of pear. OK, so I stretched a point
I often do – - -
The building is nice and the tree is cute too.
Thank you
I love old trees! This is so beautiful.
Great choices for this week´s theme.
Happy Australia Day!

Thank you, Sasha

Thanks, Joan
I was afraid, for a moment, that your illustrated limerick was the photohunt entry
All three of the photos are amazing, but I especially enjoy the old hotel. The porches are amazing. I love the architecture!
Bother! Now I have Eartha Kitt singing “I’m Just An Old Fashioned Girl” stuck in my mind! If I had thought I could have used the limerick for the Photo hunt
The Rose is an impressive hotel and is over 100 years old.
Oh, and welcome to the archive
Here it is! lol! I thought that the girl above is your entry lol! Great shots! Happy weekend and thank you so much for dropping by!
Thanks for coming back and finding the real entry
Perfect choices!
Thanks, Heather
These are great choice for our theme. I really that first photo – the gnarled truck is great. Lovely photo.
Thanks, Ann. I love the texture in an old tree trunk
great find for old fashion theme.
happy hunting!
Thanks Mousey.
The tree is a rare find…should it have been a pine tree, its gone last month! I wonder what date your bottle has lol…the hotel is lovely too!
The bottle was a 2007 vintage
Thanks for the kind comments
That’s a GREAT tree!
Thank you Rebecca. I’m so glad I used that tree. Right next to it is a pomegranate tree which was planted at the same time.
I came over to see what people had been looking at instead of the *real* PhotoHunter pictures
Great – all of them!
Thanks for visiting, A
You have some great old fashioned photos to chose from. I think I’d have to go for the honey mead!
I think you will have to join the queue – it seems to be a favourite
Love your photo-hunt pictures. The old tree catches my imagination as does the hotel. I’m not into spirits, so it doesn’t mean much to me. All three catch the theme very nicely.
Honey Mead is actually a wine – honey wine. Thank you so much for the kind words
Nice old entries for the theme. Have a great weekend.
Thank you for the kind comment
Oh my… that pear tree was planted in 1830? How I wished beauty never fades like a pear tree (=
hehee.. happy weekend (=
Thanks Pelf, an interesting thought. Although trees eventually age
wow, that IS a really old tree!! love shots btw.
Thanks, Misty
I love the pear tree photo, it’s beautiful. I’ll leave the Honey Mead for the Greek Gods. The hotel looks spacious. It sort of reminds me of New Orleans, USA. Happy Photo Hunting~
Thanks for visiting, Michelle. I’ll drop in on your site later today
