I can’t believe anyone actually gets paid to write crap like that, or that it would be published!
Just goes to show, there are still plenty of loonies using their voice in American media and politics.
Yep, that’s our country for you. I couldn’t read the whole thing but I could tell where it was going when the author grouped Obama and O’Reilly in the same sentence. “Bring us your tired huddled crackpots.” This guy certainly fits the description. He forgets to mention that Bush did all the splintering by taking us to war with Iraq. How? By lying. How much of a dumb-A do you have to be to take the country from a period of complete unity, enjoying support from most of the free world, to one of Empirical pariah in eighteen months? Ask these guys before they go run under their rocks: Rove, Dumsfeld, and Cheney.
What we need is the threat of complete annihilation of this planet to get dumbasses like that column’s author to see with some rationality. But then again, the threat of nuclear proliferation led to the bright idea that we could use nukes as non-strategic bunker busters.

America experiences “another 9/11″ in about a week on her freeways. About the same every three months from hanguns. And roughly the same body count from deaths due to environmentally-related causes roughly every quarter.
Perhaps what’s needed is fewer sensationalistic @$$#0!3s writing things like “We need another 9/11″, and more people paying attention to the real problems.
Oh, and lest the author still be determined to find the desired event:
Deaths on September 11th, 2001 occurring from the World Trade Center terror attacks: 2,993 (2,984 if you don’t count the attackers)
Deaths of US servicemembers in Iraq: 3687 with 12 awaiting confirmation.
